Recently, I’ve seen so many bloggers post some photos to share their stories of some really fun flashbacks, so this is a perfect opportunity for me to share mine! I’ve been photo tagged by Xenia from Thanks, Mail Carrier.
This photo was taken a number of years ago.
Could you tell?
My hair is longer, blonder and I don’t have a large bag with diapers and sippy cups falling out of it! I don’t have two little ones grabbing my attention in the midst of tearing the store apart.
Nope, it’s just me, my cute scarf, and of course Santa Baby.
I have to tell you as a grown woman and mother of two children, I still light up when I see that old fellow.
My husband and I have a tradition of going into the city (NYC) every year around the holidays. There is something so magical about New York City at Christmas time. There is an energy felt in that city unlike any other place I’ve been on Earth, especially at Christmas.
We always go in to see the infamous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree and we take a million pictures. One year, we even went ice-skating in Rockefeller Center! There’s actually a BIG story here, but I’ll save that for another time…
We always grab some hot coffee and stand in line to admire the gorgeous windows on 5th Avenue. We eventually make our way over to St. Patrick’s Cathedral, one of the most beautiful cathedrals ever built. FAO Schwarz usually makes our list, and this is where Santa was visiting that day.
So here I am hanging out with Santa himself, telling him what a good girl I’ve been…
Now that I have children of my own, I quickly realized how my husband and I are making holiday memories every year for them, which they will one day pass on to their own children. To us, it’s sort of like the passing of the torch. Although they were not born when this photo was taken, going to “see” Santa Claus is one of the highlights for them every year…and mine as well.
This picture truly makes me smile because seeing Santa Claus always makes me feel like a kid again…and that’s a good place to be.
The rules of picture tag are:
Open your first photo folder. Scroll down to the 10th photo. Post that photo and story on your blog. Tag three others (or more) friends to do the same. Here are my friends that I am tagging:
