It’s Time Out for Theta Mom Thursday! For those of you visiting for the first time, the goal is to grab one hour of time within one week to do whatever you want…without the kids. It’s such an amazing proposition, I know! On Thursdays, post how you spent your “time out” (add my button from the right side bar or link to me) and be sure to stop here to link up and meet other Theta Moms to see how they spent their time out!

It’s been one of those weeks. I spent some time down the Jersey Shore with my family. We lost our beloved Nana a year ago and we attended a beautiful ceremony at the church where we said good-bye. It’s definitely been an emotionally charged week for me.

Having said that, I took some time away from Blogging as well. Although I’ve created new posts, I decided to shut the computer off for a night and just v-e-g out. So that’s exactly what I did.

I grabbed a package of my favorite potato chips:

A glass of wine (of course):

And sat down on the couch to watch two of my favorite reality television shows:
and
That’s right ladies, after this long and difficult week, eating some fattening chips, sipping some awesome red wine and watching my favorite absolutely-no-thought-required reality tv was a perfect time out for me this week!

If you are participating in Theta Mom Thursday, how did you spend your one hour? Link up and share your time out with other Theta Moms!

And don’t forget the $180 Pearl Earring Giveaway from Pearl Paradise ends tonight, so get those last entries in!

That sounds like a nice time. I like chips and wine (sometimes). Not a fan of The Hills or The City but I am a dude so I shouldn't be watching those shows anyway. LOL. Sorry about your Nana. Hope the week finishes out nicely for you.

Of Course The Wine.. That's the most important part of chilling out! My weekly treat of a bottle of rose is like tiny drops of heaven! :D

So sorry for the loss of you Nana. My shows are more along the lines of CSI and Antiques Road show.. I have my DVR set to automatically tune to them every Thursday night, although my children watch CSI with me I usually get the road show alone lol…

Our time outs sound eerily similar!
If it were after noon, I would have grabbed some wine on my time out too!

Great job!

Ha ha ha. I love The Hills. However, I haven't watched any this season. Life is just super busy right now. Someday it will slow down!

I love the Hills. I haven't seen the City yet, don't know why. I love to hate Kristen.

I think vegging out sounds perfect. I need a night like that!

I am so with you on the hills city. But are you finding that there are more commercials now than actual show?

Reply

26 Theta Mom November 5, 2009 at 9:48 am

Couldn't agree with you more girl! However, I usually watch it on DVR, so I fast forward through them. The actual show is probably like 13 mintues!

I did the exact same thing last night. You don't know how happy it makes me that you watch those shows. I've been teased relentlessly by my family the past few days for watching them!! :)

I ate chips last night too with Heluva Good French Onion Dip. Yummy-just what I shouldn't have done. It's always nice just to veg out!! I love to watch Grey's and Private Practice on Thursday nights.

Oh wow. I used to watch the Hills! I love Lauren. CAN NOT HANDLE Kristin or the "Speidy" drama. And um… is there a person on earth as dull as Audrina? So, once Lauren left, so did I. Should she re-enter my TV guide, I'll follow her where'er she goes ;)

As for your time-out, isn't it great to just sit on the couch and do nothing?! :)

I so need some wine tonight! I've been under so much stress lately! And can I please be as thin as anyone on the Hills, please? ;)
Today, I got my highlights re-done, a great haircut and blow-dry. My head feels great! :)

You deserve every single minute of your night off and every single chip and sip of wine (or gulp, whichever, no one's watching). Mental exhaustion is just as tiring as physical exhaustion. Have a great weekend ~ ♥
