Becoming a Brand Ambassador

This past year has been ultra exciting for Theta Mom. TMC launched in mid-March and since its inception, Theta Mom has grown to incredible heights with new members and visitors each day. Also, many of you know that toward the end of the summer I began working as a social media consultant and I am happy to announce another new opportunity that I’ve accepted. I was recently hired as a Brand Ambassador for The Brag Company.

I worked with The Brag Company back in January of this year helping to launch some of their products which you can find full details here. It was a very successful review and giveaway due in part to the fact that this is an amazing company which is why I am so honored to be their spokesperson! I have developed a wonderful relationship with this brand over the past year which makes this a perfect fit for Theta Mom.

For those of you who may not be familiar with The Brag Company, they reached world-wide success with the development of The Bra Bag:

The Bra Bag comes in many different designs and holds up to 6 bras perfectly so you never have to worry about traveling and ruining your expensive delicates.

The success of these bags quickly turned into the development of the Panty Pak, a place to keep your “clean” and “not so clean” panties in their proper place which is another quality design that meets both fashion and function. The Brag Company has been featured on The Today Show and The Rachel Ray Show and there is no question why because these products are so fabulous!

As a Brand Ambassador, I am helping The Brag Company kick off an exclusive event for Brag Fans {perfect timing with the holidays fast approaching and trust me, you’ll want their products on your wish list}!

Full Details: This contest is open to US and Canada residents only and begins today and runs through December 15th. Any purchase made through The Brag Company’s website automatically enters your name into a drawing for a free pair of diamond earrings (valued at $600). If you refer a friend then your name will be entered twice into the drawing. There will be a “referred by” field to fill out in the shopping cart. The winner of this contest will be announced on Thursday, December 16th via email and The Brag Company will also post the announcement on Facebook and Twitter.

So I would love, love, love your support in helping me kick off this amazing event by simply following The Brag Company on Twitter. You’ll be able to stay updated on the latest product details, promotions and of course, chat about all things related to women and fashion and what Theta Mom doesn’t love that?

The Brag Company is a wonderful brand to get to know and I look forward to being a part of The Brag Team. As always, I appreciate your support…and based on my last post, in a word about this new opportunity? #woohoo

Woo Hoo and Lame

I must say I feel a little behind in bloggy land lately. But those of you that follow me on Twitter know I am almost always there and I am known to seriously abuse #hashtags. I think it’s an incurable addiction so why not write a post about it?

Clearly, balancing my bloggy mojo lately has been a challenge but I am doing the best I can (as I know many of you bloggers are also trying to seek the same kind of balance daily). So today I am sharing some relevant things going on in my life that are either totally lame or totally deserving of a Woo Hoo and I’ll add that infamous #hashtag to each so that you can the full effect – here goes:

I recently started running on the treadmill to get back to looking like this. #Woo Hoo

After realizing how long this process will take I ended up drinking an abundance of wine. #Lame

Thanksgiving is around the corner and it’s a time to get together with family to celebrate and give thanks. #Woo Hoo

It’s also a time to eat too much, making my weight loss journey another reminder of how long it will take. #Lame

I recognize that I’m not going to continue to chase a moment that no longer exists and live for today. #Woo Hoo

Sounds like a great idea on paper, but sometimes I still find myself chasing that fleeting moment. #Lame

I sit down to visit many of my favorite blogs and enjoy a cup of coffee in the process. #Woo Hoo

This happens right at the moment my little girl doesn’t want to take a nap. #Lame

I have some plans to meet some of my closest friends (who live out of state) in the city this holiday season. #Woo Hoo

The thought of bed bugs in my NYC hotel room gives me nightmares. #Lame

Christmas is also fast approaching and it’s my absolute favorite time of year. #Woo Hoo

The thought of purchasing what I need for my kids and trying to afford it all makes me drink an abundance of wine. #Lame

The only thing I want on my list from Santa this year is a brand new iphone. #Woo Hoo

I think I’ll be lucky if I get an ipod touch. #Lame

I could share a million more of these #hashtags because it’s so #addictive. #Woo Hoo

But my kids are telling me it’s time to get off the computer. #Lame

Did you have any #Woo Hoo and #Lame moments this week? Would love to hear about it!

Featured TMC Blogger: Confessions of a Dr. Mom

TMC welcomes Melissa, author of the blog Confessions of a Dr. Mom. The moment Melissa joined TMC and I visited her blog I immediately connected with her writing. She is another Theta Mom who speaks directly from the heart and continues to blog about topics that affect us all as women and mothers on this journey. She is as real as it gets and a supportive blogger as well so be sure to show her some comment love! Here is how she describes her blog in her own words:

“Hi! I’m Melissa, a part time Pediatrician and full time Mom. I started blogging in the spring of this year out of a need to write. I had always loved writing and unfortunately through the years, writing had fallen to the wayside. Enter Motherhood and my surprising decision to become a stay at home mom, I felt I really had some stories to share.

As a pediatrician, I thought I was fairly prepared for the logistics of taking care of my children. However, as all of you Moms know…nothing ever goes quite as planned. In the last five years, I have been surprised by co-sleeping, had my heart broken over breast feeding, and have had to learn to tune into and trust my Mommy instinct.

What I’ve learned through blogging, writing, sharing, and listening to our collective stories as Mothers is this: the journey through Motherhood is a long and windy road with various crossroads along the way. This road may take us in different directions but the destination is the same. We all strive to do what is best for our children. We all face similar parenting issues. What works for one child or one family will not work for everybody. We must listen to that instinct that we all have and do what is best for our own children and our own families.

This is the true beauty of Motherhood: sharing our stories, learning from each other, and supporting each other through this oftentimes difficult and yet beautiful journey. This is why I continue to write, blog, and share my own personal stories. And, it is also why I love reading the stories that you all have to share.”

Be sure to check out the blog and follow her on Twitter! New to TMC? Join us! We LOVE new members!

*In order to be considered as a future Featured TMC Blogger, you must be a member and leave a comment on the blog of the current Feature Blogger. Have a fantastic weekend ladies!

The Exciting New Launch of Tegu

Tegu blocks are revolutionary wooden blocks because of the powerful magnets hidden inside them. When children (and even adults) get their hands on these blocks they usually cannot put them down!  The philosophy at Tegu is that true imagination and innate creativity is a child’s best friend and these two elements come to life when children play with these blocks especially because of the magnetization. Pottery Barn Kids and other fine stores now carry this product nationwide.

Tegu all started with an idea by two brothers, Chris and Will Haughey. Chris was brainstorming the question, “Could we create a for-profit company based in Honduras that would foster a positive social impact through its business?” In 2006, Chris posed that question during a work trip to Honduras where he reconnected in Tegucigalpa with friends dedicated to a wonderful humanitarian project. This ignited the idea that would eventually become Tegu, “a toy business founded to address unemployment, neglected natural resources and the need for entrepreneurship in Honduras.”

I was given a full wooden set of Tegu blocks to experiment with my kids and the results were nothing short of amazing. This product is geared toward ages 3+ but I have to tell you, even my two year-old daughter loved these blocks! Although she couldn’t really verbalize and express exactly what she was building, she had fun watching the blocks “stick” together through the magnetization! So, of course I can’t leave out the beautiful design made by my two year-old which she calls, “Mah bocks” {translation: My blocks}

My 5 year-old son not only had a blast but he is at that wonderful creative stage where he can use his imagination and make his designs really “come to life.” What I also love about the mission behind Tegu is that these blocks truly foster a child’s natural creativity since the sets do not come with instructions on how to build something – this truly allows the child to build on their own and lets their creativity take them to new heights! You can purchase any set of Tegu blocks through their product page. The full 52 piece set retails for $100. It’s the perfect gift for any child on your list this holiday season!

Two of my son’s favorite creations were the giraffe that was soon blocked by a wall:

And the soccer player about to kick the soccer ball:

What’s even more exciting is that beginning today through the end of December Tegu is actually going live by broadcasting streaming video of a real builder playing with the blocks which will allow YOU to experience the magic of Tegu blocks as if they were right in front of your own eyes! You will have the opportunity to interact with the builder and upon request the builder will create specific requests live via Twitter and Facebook! How awesome is that?

Beginning at 1 pm (ET) today, tweet @Tegu of what YOU would like to see built. Then Tegu will tweet you with a link to the video that you can share with your friends! Or just send them your own pictures and video of you and your family and friends playing with Tegu blocks and they may just feature it on Tegu Live! So get your ideas ready and begin to tweet and share on Facebook with the Tegu team during this very exciting new launch! We can’t wait to see what YOU come up with!

I was provided a full set of the Original Tegu blocks along with two Discovery Sets and a Travel Tote to facilitate this review. These are my own, honest opinions about the product which are reflective of my childrens’ experiences.

Tiny Prints Review and Giveaway

***This contest is now closed. Congratulations Sara! An email has been sent.***

Tiny Prints is a business that began with three friends who shared big dreams and a passion for beautiful design. Amazingly, this company has grown from a small, self-funded start-up to one of the biggest retailers online of stylish and savvy prints. Tiny Prints is probably best known for their gorgeous line of birth announcements and baby shower invitations. However, this company has now branded itself to offer full card collections that meet the needs of every special occasion! They are also known for their outstanding customer service and attention to detail to ensure that every order is executed successfully.

I reviewed cards from their Christmas and Holiday Collection:  {I am sharing the photo taken directly from the Tiny Prints website since I wouldn’t be able to show my personal card without blocking out our names, etc.}

Many cards have different color options and formats available which truly creates a total customized experience to fit your needs. For example, the card I chose {above} says “Happy Holidays” but I wanted it to read, “Merry Christmas” and the text on this card was completely customizable! So if you adore the lay-out of a specific card but want to change the text, you can do that at Tiny Prints. Furthermore, the ordering process was so easy and the customizable portion which includes uploading photos was just as seamless.

However, I would have to say the best part about Tiny Prints is the absolute unbeatable quality of the cards. It truly is one of the most professional and “upscale” kind of card I’ve ever ordered and I absolutely cannot wait to mail these cards out this holiday season! The photos are clear, the card is made with heavyweight cardstock and it truly shows the outstanding quality of this card.

Be sure to shop the full line of Holiday Cards  including Ornament Cards! This is the *best* idea I have seen for a Christmas card and I initially wanted to choose these cards. However, I am using two photos and there is only room to fit one photo for the ornament cards but I thought the idea of having friends and family hang the card right on the tree when they receive it in the mail is a fantastic idea! You can check out the new, full line of Ornament Cards here.

Also, follow Tiny Prints on Facebook and Twitter to stay updated with some great deals and special coupon codes to shop!

The Giveaway:

Tiny Prints is offering one lucky Theta Mom reader 40 custom designed Holiday Cards just in time for the holidays! How awesome is that?
