June Cleaver Didn’t…But I Do

Alright, you already know I am a Theta Mom. I am the real deal. When it comes to the reality of motherhood, I’m ready to dish the good, the bad, and the ugly. This is the true essence of a Theta Mom.

So, keeping this blog truly authentic, if you haven’t read in a previous post, I’ll tell you again that I hate to cook. In fact, I loathe cooking.

I do it because if I don’t, we die. It’s really that simple.

When I think of the “perfect” mother, June Cleaver comes to mind. I have this fixed image of her in the kitchen where she spent most of her time. Fresh baked cookies coming out of the oven daily; preparing all home cooked meals with a smile on her face… Hey, she was a “good” mother, so naturally she was a good cook, right?

I am what you would call a slow cooker. I like to add ingredients to one pot and call it a day. Yes ladies, I prefer to “cut and dump.”

Rachel Ray made a career out of making 30 Minute Meals. I am still convinced one day I will have my own cooking show called Cut and Dump for mothers exactly like me. Cut open the package and just dump it in. Yes, dinner is now served.

So, you can imagine my sheer happiness when I met Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. This is the ultimate cut and dump. A meal in a box, but the bonus is that my kids absolutely love it.

But Thetas, it gets even better…

I recently discovered that Kraft came out with self-serving portions called Easy Mac. Yes, this is one slice of heaven for me!

Just add water.

Microwave: 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

Cut.

Dump.

Stir.

Serve.

Kraft, bless you.

The reason my hubby and I are still married after all these years is that he does 90 percent of the cooking…hehe…..

LOL You crack me up. I love cooking. Well when I am not stressed out. Lately that has been way to much. I love the easy mac too it's so quick and easy. Especially when you don't feel like making a whole box.

I'm with you and I just hate cooking. I don't know how so I get very frustrated and irritated at just the thought of having to cook every day.

My family loves Kraft Easy Mac too! The children get it for lunch a couple times a week.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

I love to cook but have zero time to actually do it! Before our son came along I used to "whip up" fantastic meals for the hubby and I (complete with the perfect glass – or 2 – of wine)… these days, the simpler… the better. We have definitely had our share of Easy Mac in our house!

Lol!!!!!!! I definitely go through moods of only doing the cut and dump thing. The past 3 months have been that way…since we're in a shoebox sized condo with no room to cook anyway. I need to go out and get some of this Easy Mac!

Let me know when you get your own cooking show. I am so gonna watch it! I am all about convenience!

What a great name –too funny! I'm not a fan of cooking either; I'm all about casseroles, slow cookers and other ways to "cut and dump".

I LOVE your new blog look!!

If only my little one would give mac & cheese a chance. Life would be so much simpler!

ROFL. I'm getting worse actually. I used to love to cook – now I don't have either the time or the inclination. I WANT to cut and dump but the family won't let me, darn it!

I'm not a mother yet, unless you count to two dogs, but that is exactly how I cook. I have tried the other way, but it's far too dangerous. Things burn, explode, taste funky, turn to pinestraw (long story about spaghetti, but I guess that's kind of dump & cook, too), etc. I practically burn water. It's good to know that when I do have kids with two legs, they'll survive the dump method of cooking, LOL.

I love that stuff. Luckily, so does my daughter…Totally invented by a busy mom!
