WooHoo and Lame: The Pre-Summer Edition

I can actually get the kids ready for school without putting on their coats, gloves, hats and the whole bit. #woohoo

In two weeks, pre-school is finished for the summer. #lame

Finally, the weather has cooperated and it’s wonderful to finally get outside again. #woohoo

But it has been like 90 degrees and so damn hot, I’m stuck back in the freakin house. #lame

With the kids. #doublelame

I can’t wait to get some color on my face and sport some killer tan lines. #woohoo

I’m not all that excited about slipping into that bathing suit. #lame

Thinking about back-to-school shopping gets me all excited. #woohoo

But then I realize it’s a whopping three months away. #lame

Can’t wait to hit the beach! #woohoo

Then I think about how much work it is with the kids before we actually have our toes in the sand. #lame

Can’t wait to jump in our pool! #woohoo

Then I remember that I *STILL* have to potty train my youngest. #lame

And she must be trained before September in order for her to attend this new pre-school. #doublelame

Time to break out the margarita mix and start enjoying the summer! #woohoo

Time to think about how I still have to lose those unwanted pounds. #lame

BlogHer11’ is only about two months away! #woohoo

At the moment, I am still not planning on going. #lame

Excited about some fun roadtrips ahead with the family this summer. #woohoo

But then I remember all the drama that my kids can bring on a vacation – I mean, kidcation. #lame

Do you have any woohoo and lame moments when you think about the upcoming summer?

We had our first hot day yesterday and it took us longer to get everyone ready to go outside than the the amount of time we were actually out there. The things you forget when it is 10 degress outside.

Being excited about school ending just to realize that I am going to have to spend ALL day with ALL the kids… Love them to pieces but sometimes I could use a break! LOL

I have to say that my list would be similar to yours. Minus the potty training and pre school stuff.

You’re not going to BlogHer? I would have thought that you were!

There are so many fun things to do in the summer #woohoo
Our June weekends are already booked, which means not a lot of spontaneous fun #lame

We are going camping for a night with my BF and her family #woohoo
    It is CAMPING #lame

But overall, summer is so #woohoo that I’m trying to focus on that and not the five (or ten) pounds to lose/melting make-up/carrying around a sweaty toddler (all #lame, for the record) :)

  5. We are still working on potty training to be ready for preschool in fall. I hope we have it together by fall.

I just commented on another blog saying that during the summer, with all the heat and humidity, I hate going outside. But the kids want to be outside, so I have to go. #lame Mama needs her AC.

Then it must be like TRIPLE or QUADRUPLE lame that my kids graduated from preschool on 5/20. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
    lol.
I so relate to all of this. But also? Triple lame that I have to put on a maternity swim suit if I take the kids swimming. ugh!

    love this!

Huge congrats on the kids being able to get dressed by themselves. Big step! :-)

  9. One thing I love about living in Alaska: not having to concern myself with a swimsuit. Granted, there IS an indoor pool, but we are just fine NOT experiencing it. Lots of other outdoor activities that don’t involve a bathing suit. Here’s hoping the summer is much more #woohoo than #lame.

Great post Heather, here’s my biggies!

Don’t have to make lunches for school anymore-Woohoo

Haven’t yet figured out how to avoid sitting through kids 2 hour DAILY swim team practice-lame

  11. Oh I have such a love/hate relationship with Summer. Your list is so spot on. Love it.

  12. My son’s preschool turns into a summer camp at the end of this month and he’ll be there 3-4 days a week. #woohoo

The weather’s been absolutely lovely, especially in the evenings #woohoo

The humidity has been brutal to my hair. #lame

I graduated my two master degrees last week #woohoo

Now the job hunt begins #lame

I’m not planning on BlogHer at this point, either, which is a #lame.

Summer, means flowers, which means lots of great photography moments. #whoohoo

Now why aren’t you going to BlogHer, mama? And what the heck is up with these ridiculously high temps as of late? I’m not a fan of 90 at all!

  15. Great list!! Here are my additions:

Finally getting away to the coast for the weekend with my boys #woohoo

Not being able to form a coherent thought the day after returning from that trip to the coast with my boys #lame

    ;)

You lost me at margaritas. ;) I would say I get to go with the family to California for 2 weeks this summer. #woohoo. Still don’t fit into the swimsuit i was hoping for. #lame.

  18. whoo hoo! i’m off work ever other friday for the rest of the summer! lame- i have to work every other friday for the rest of the summer.

  19. Ha! Ah, summer… it’s a double edged sword, isn’t it? I was all whoohoo about the all-to-brief beautiful weather, but also think this ridiculous heat is LAME. And while I really want a nice tan (or even a little glow, really), I’m also not too keen about getting back into a swimsuit.

  20. I share your #woohoo for no more coats, hats, and gloves, but retort with a big #lame for the return of sunscreen. (I think I need to time myself: does it take me longer to get everybody out of the house in the winter with all the gear or in the summer with the SPF 30+?)

    Fun post! #woohoo

    Kids’ naptime over. #lame

My kids will be going to full-day camp this summer #woohoo

They’ll go to camp for 3 weeks…but summer break is 9 weeks #lame

  24. I enjoyed reading this post. You are correct, there are so many great moments about summer. After a horrible winter, you’d think I’d jump for joy at every aspect of summer but as you pointed out there are some #lame moments upon us.

We adopted a rescue dog (son picked it out, so it is ‘his’). #woo hoo! Now I get to train it and clean up after it. #lame

  26. My main lame thought is putting on a bathing suit again with all my skinny inlaws. It happens every year and you’d think I would be better prepared for us to spend 2 weeks together in Brittany.

Somehow, it escaped my notice that the last day of preschool is TOMORROW. I thought it was next Friday, like the last day of kindergarten. #lame

I just wrote a post about the beach with kids- a lot of fun, but LOTS of work #woohoo and #lame

Must potty-train my youngest this summer, too #lame

No more diapers in the house after 6.5 years? #woohoo

  28. We are going to Maine for 2 whole weeks #woohoo
It’s at the tail end of August which is many many hot long weeks away #lame
I have both my kids to myself all summer #woohoo
