When your children meet other children, soon they begin to talk more and more about these “new” friends.
You begin to hear their names all over the house…
Slowly, you begin to meet the moms of these children and the more you chat with these moms, you find yourself liking them as much as your child likes their new friends.
So what happens when your kids finally get together for a play-date?
Theta Moms talk endlessly and of course, drink some wine!
I wanted to post this because these two fabulous ladies to my left are the first real moms that I have met and had over to my home, thanks to my son.
I never knew meeting people through my own child would be this successful!
So here’s to my kid for finding me some totally awesome mommy dates and in the process, giving me a well deserved Theta Mom Time Out!
I won’t be holding Time Out for Theta Mom Thursday again until the New Year. Although I plan on taking an hour for myself, it will be quite hectic as the holiday approaches. So once again, I’ll remind you in January to join us and look forward to a New Year of Time Out for Theta Mom Thursdays!

And if I haven’t been to your blog recently, it’s because I just joined Facebook and all of you FB freaks know how time consuming it can be, especially when you first join. So I plan to get around to your blogs shortly, I miss you guys! So (shameless plug) if you want to become a fan of Theta Mom on FB, I would love that! You can do so here.
Hopefully this whole FB thing won’t become like a Twitter addiction…although I’m beginning to wonder what I got myself into…

Ohhh Facebook is so addicting. I’m on there as well. I love when my kids bring home new mommies. They are typically Thetamoms. So about their children as well. Glad you met some.
Have fun on facebook, but beware of viruses! A couple of people I know inadvertantly downloaded viruses from facebook.

Hubby swears that he’s never going to get a Facebook account. Everybody else in his family has (even his mom!), except for my husband and his older brother! I wonder for how long he can hold out…

Yes, I’ve been lucky to meet one mom at my daughter’s preschool that I really like. We are new in town so because I didn’t grow up here, it has not been easy meeting new friends, especially with a 3 1/2 year old in tow.

I’ve also been very lucky to meet some totally rad (Yep, rad) friends through the kids school. The other moms are just wonderful people & I love that we can get together to laugh & share time together.

I love meeting new moms! I just joined a play group in my area and have started to build so many new relationships.
My husband can be mildly inappropriate and make fun of me saying things like, “Ooooo is that your new girl crush??” He just doesn’t understand haha.

It does make it so much easier when you like your kids’ friends’ moms. Believe me, as they get older, you REALLY want to because when they get to be teens, you have less control and they can get into SO much more trouble. It definitely helps to know the family and what you may or may not be up against!

Once I moved from L.A. that is the only way I found friends – through the kiddos…

So far, I can’t say I really like any of the parents in Cole and Bella’s kindergarten class except for one mom who I know through MOPS. I’m hoping that as they continue going to school there through the years, this will change!!
